Program Overview

The Workplace Technology program is designed to recognize the validated workplace competencies achieved at the conclusion of the second year of Maine Career Advantage when combined with an additional 49 earned credits in the occupational area of choice. This associate in applied science will provide for an accessible and easy transition into a specialty degree (e.g. any catalog program such as Integrated Manufacturing Technology or Computer Applications and Administrative Management).

Upon successful completion of the two-year internship experience and a series of courses within the prescribed distribution of courses for the Workplace Technology program, a student will be eligible for the associate in applied science degree.

The Workplace Technology program recognizes the academic value of the intern by awarding 15 credits for the two-year internship experience. These credits may, when appropriately assessed, be identified as equivalent to courses in an appropriate specialty degree allowing for easy transition into a selected program.
