Student Activities at SMCC

Getting involved in campus life at SMCC is an integral part of your development and education. Participation in student groups provides for gaining new friendships and learning new skills to last a lifetime.

There are different student organizations, clubs and groups that students can get involved in. Some include: Video Club, Choral Group, Theater, In and Out Club, EMS First Responders, International Club, Students for Environmental Awareness, Computer Club and Phi Theta Kappa (international honor society).

One of the committees of the Student Senate is the Student Activities Committee. This group plans activities for the campus community including live entertainment at noon in the cafeteria, nighttime events such as hypnotists, comedians and game shows, and the Annual Spring Fling held in May. The committee looks for student input of different activities to hold. Many of the live performers are those who are seen at colleges and universities across the United States. The advisor is the Director of Residence Life and Student Activities—office located in Surfsite Hall, phone 207-799-4334.
